Jaguar V-12
XKE, XJS, and XJ12 1972-1994 High Torque Gear Reduction Starter:
This starter replaces the Lucas number 26381, S4541, and S3113 starters
among others. It fits all Jagar V-12 applications except 1971 and early 1972
XKEs which is also available below for the same price and replaces Lucas #
26327D and 26272D.

This is our
1.2 HP nippondenso starter that has been expertly machined and modified to
work in almost all Jaguar V-12 applications from 1972-1994. It may work
beyond 1994. This is a great starter at a fantastic price. Stronger and
lighter than the original starter with no permanent modification needed to
you vehicle. Bolt it on and go! Say goodbye to labored starting in the

Electrical
Hook-up:
This
starter has one large bolted terminal for the positive battery cable from
your vehicle. There is also a second small solenoid terminal (1/4" male
spade connector) which connects to the wire from your vehicle's ignition
switch. You have the option to bypass this starter's solenoid for simplicity
and to retain the use of your car's original external solenoid.

The starter is very simple to install and connect!
Installation tips:
This
starter does not have threaded holes as the original. This usually helps in
that it makes it easier to install. You will "through-bolt" the starter
using the original bolts and a set of lock washers and nuts (or nylon
inserted locking nuts) that can be easily gotten at the hardware store for a
few cents.
XKE V-12s
have a starter bolt access point in the passenger side floor board. You will
pass an extension through this hole to tighten or loosen the upper starter
bolt. This hole is under the carpet and covered by a rubber grommet. This
tip will save you hours of aggravation and the starter swap will take less
than 15 minutes with assistance from a second person.
